About Standard Pacific Homes®

Irvine, California-based Standard Pacific Homes is the America's 11th largest homebuilder as of 2015. Engaged in the development of single-family and multi-family homes, Standard Pacific has built homes for more than 113,000 families during its 46-year history. The Company constructs homes within a wide range of price and size targeting a broad range of homebuyers. Standard Pacific operates in many of the largest housing markets in the country with operations in major metropolitan areas in California, Florida, Arizona, the Carolinas, Texas, Colorado and Nevada. In June 2015, Standard Pacific Homes and Ryland Homes announced the companies were merging. The combined company is expected to be the nation's fourth largest home builder. Following the merger the expected name is to be CalAtlantic Group, Inc.

What to Expect When Interviewing

The interview process at Standard Pacific Homes is similar to competitors. There is a basic skills assessment which covers topics including but not limited to reading, writing, speaking, and basic math. Applicants must bring their resume with them to the interview. Some applicants go through a online screening before progressing to an in person interview. Current employees have reported that it is important to show that you are capable of coping with stressful situations, working in a fast paced environment, have a flexible schedule, and communicating with colleagues. Once through the application process, all new hires are required to go through a formal training.
