Michaels is a retail chain that sells arts and crafts supplies. First opened in 1976 in Dallas, Texas, the chain competes with Jo-Ann Stores, Hobby Lobby, AC Moore and Ben Franklin. With 10 private labels and a host of other brand name merchandise, each Michaels store carries more than 40,000 different products, including arts and craft supplies, bakeware, scrapbooking supplies, beads, yarn, picture frames and home d'cor. There are almost 1050 Micheals stores throughout 49 states and Canada.
