About Kerr-McGee®

The Kerr-McGee Corporation, founded in 1929, was an Oklahoma energy company involved in oil exploration, production of crude oil, natural gas, perchlorate, and uranium mining and milling in the US and abroad. On June 23, 2006, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation acquired Kerr-McGee in an all-cash transaction totaling $16.5 billion plus $2.6 billion in debt and all operations moved out of Oklahoma.

What to Expect When Interviewing

The interview procedure at Kerr-McGee is similar to competitors. There is a common skills assessment which covers subjects including but not limited to reading, writing, articulation, and simple math. Applicants must bring their resume with them to the interview. Some applicants go through a email screening before progressing to an in person interview. Former employees have reported that it is important to show that you are capable of handling stressful situations, working in a fast paced environment, have a flexible schedule, and communicating with colleagues. Once through the application process, all new employees are required to go through a formal training.
