About Emerson Electric®

Emerson Electric, established in 1890 by John Wesley Emerson in St. Louis, Missouri, went on to become the first company in the United States to sell electric fans. It did so using a patent for electric motors that was owned by Alexander and Charles Meston. The company soon expanded to include sewing machines, dental drills and power tools. Today, Emerson continues to enhance its product line, making it the largest manufacturer of power equipment in the country. With locations in 150 countries throughout the world, Emerson is a Fortune 500 company that provides products and services to commercial, consumer and industrial markets.
