About Dow Chemical®

Dow Chemical was founded by Herbert Henry Dow, who was a chemist, in 1897. Initially, the company sold only potassium bromide and bleach, but today most of Dow's products are sold to other manufacturers, as opposed to consumers. Dow sells chemicals, plastics and agricultural products. Saran, Ziploc and Scrubbing Bubbles were former Dow product lines that were sold to S.C. Johnson & Son in 1997. Dow Chemical is the third largest chemical company in the world behind BASF and DuPont. Dow's net income is over $4.5 billion.

What to Expect When Interviewing

Less than the majority of applicants that interview for a position with Dow Chemical report a positive interview experience. Potential employees can expect a fairly straightforward interview process consisting of a face-to-face and/or group panel interview, in which a skills test and a personality test are given. A standard interview question might include, "Describe a time when you had to lead a group of people. What was the outcome?" Potential employees can apply online or in person, and phone interviews are sometimes conducted prior to the face-to-face interview. Applicants who are offered positions can expect to submit to a background check.
