About Dairy Queen®

The American Dairy Queen Corporation, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. has been serving treats and food since 1940. A ten cent sale of a then unnamed frozen treat product grew into an "all you can eat" trial sale, and within two hours more than 1,600 servings were dished out. From that day on, a star was born. Dairy Queen grew from fewer than 10 stores in December 1941 to more than 6,000 restaurants today between the United States, Canada, and 18 other countries.
