About Carrier Corporation®

Carrier is a brand of United Technologies Corporation Building & Industrial Systems, based in Farmington, Connecticut. Carrier was founded in 1915 as an independent, American company, manufacturing and distributing heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as commercial refrigeration and food service equipment. About 2012, it was a $12.5 billion company with over 43,000 employees serving customers in 170 countries on six continents. Carrier was acquired by United Technologies in 1979. In 2016, Carrier Corporation announced it would be laying off 1400 American workers, in favor of shipping jobs to Monterrey, Mexico.

What to Expect When Interviewing

The interview process at Carrier Corporation is similar to competitors. There is a basic skills assessment which covers topics including but not limited to reading, writing, speaking, and simple math. Applicants must bring their resume with them to the interview. Some applicants go through a email screening before progressing to an in person interview. Former employees have reported that it is important to show that you are capable of coping with stressful situations, working in a fast paced environment, have a flexible schedule, and collaborating with colleagues. Once through the screening process, all new employees are required to go through a formal training.
