Avon is a purveyor of personal care items that sells its products in more than 140 countries worldwide. With annual sales of $11 billion, it is the 5th largest beauty company in the world. With more than 6.4 million representatives, that also makes Avon the largest direct sale enterprise worldwide. Avon sells its products through door-to-door sales, as well as brochures. First started in 1886 by David McConnell and a partner as the California Perfume Company, the duo trademarked the name Avon in 1932. Avon sells a variety of beauty products for men, women and children, including makeup, bath products, personal care items and more.

The majority of applicants that interview for a position with Avon report a negative interview experience. Potential employees can expect a fairly straightforward interview process consisting of a face-to-face and/or group panel interview, in which a skills test and a personality test are given. A standard interview question might include, "What are your career goals?" Potential employees can apply online or in person, and phone interviews are sometimes conducted prior to the face-to-face interview. Some applicants who are offered positions can expect to submit to a background check.
